Its the small things

Tis the season...right? I always have a difficult time during the season for a myriad of reasons that I will not go into on this post.  So I have made a special effort this year to look for the joy in the small things. And today it found me.

I was sitting at my local Target waiting on a prescription to be filled. While I was waiting another woman approached the counter - she had a small little girl with her.  While the mother was speaking to the Target personnel, the little girl wondered over to the bench were I was sitting.  She had a book in her hand and just started chatting with me. We interacted for a few minutes and then she asked me if I would read her book to her!  How precious.  She climbed on the bench next to me and I read the book!  It made my day!


After he mother completed her transaction at the counter she came to retrieve the little girl.  She said "she must like you" because she apparently is quite shy! I don't know why she chose me to be so friendly with, but I'm glad she did!  It is the small things that make you happy!
